When a person is overweight, they put undue strain on their entire body. It’s not just the heart and lungs, but also, the feet, ankles, knees, and hips.   • It affects your gait. When you are overweight, your body must compensate in any way it can. This can include an altering of your natural gait. Hence, causing pain to occur in your feet, ankles, hips, and knees alike.
  • Greater risk of sprains and breaks. Being overweight puts more pressure on your body and your extremities. Carrying extra weight also puts you at a higher risk for suffering from sprains and breaks, as well.
  • Decreased blood circulation. Another problem with being overweight is that it reduces the efficiency of blood circulation throughout the body, which necessarily includes your feet and ankles.
